PetVille: Tahiki Build-A-Hut is coming soon

Have you made it to Tahiki yet? If so, you'll soon be able to build your very own beach-side hut. Like other DIY projects in PetVille, you'll need to work with friends to build the hut from scratch -- and once it's complete, there will be a room inside that you'll be able to decorate. Based on the picture above, looks like the items you'll need will include nails, bamboo, boards, stones and palm fronds for the roofing. Then, once you're done, your pet can kick back and relax by the seashore.

If you have yet to unlock the door to Tahiki, find out how in our our guide.

Treasure Isle: More room for everyone with new Medium Island expansion

Life on an island can be peaceful, but restricting. Especially if you're a Treasure Islander who has a vast collection of lost animals, thatched huts and/or other decor. We've been waiting for another expansion for our island, and we're happy to report that it has arrived. Now you can expand your plot of land to a Medium Island, which will cost 50,000 coins or, if you don't have enough gold stuff, you can pay 25 Island Cash ($5) to get the job done.

If you have pictures of your Medium Island, please send them to editors@games.com, and we'll feature it here.

We spotted a survey about a Mafia Wars Las Vegas launch event on the game's official Facebook page, asking fans if they would travel to Sin City to attend a big launch event for the upcoming expansion. The survey says the launch event will be "at the end of Summer 2010" which means that we will see MWLV this summer, but probably not until sometime around August. And, it will apparently roll out with some mild fanfare. Depending how you answer the first survey question, you get a different set of follow up questions, which gives a little more insight to what this launch event might entail. If you answered 'Yes,' then you're asked if what kind of treatment you prefer -- VIP, All-Access Pass or Day Pass to a 'conference.' (A Mafia Wars conference? Interesting.) If you answered "Maybe," then you're given multiple choice about what would keep you from attending and then what city would be most convenient for you to attend an event. (Maybe there will be launch events in several cities) If you answered 'No,' then you are given a blank form as to why you wouldn't attend and, again, asked which city you might consider visiting for an event of this sort. mafia wars las vegas launch party survey yesmafia wars las vegas launch party maybemafia wars las vegas launch party no 'Fess up: Would you attend a Mafia Wars Las Vegas launch event? Pet Society: Losing my Playfish Cash virginity- Part 1

pet society bear petling
Are you a Playfish Cash virgin? Do you refuse to spend real money on Pet Society? Are you the only one amongst your friends who doesn't have a fishing glove or a secret garden?

If you've already given in to the temptations of cash items, do you remember your first time? What did you buy? pet society socialite potion

Heiða from Iceland was a PC virgin until last month, when three of her friends, Rakel, Viktor, and Sigurður gave her 260 Playfish cash. (By the way, don't ask me how to pronounce that special character ð. I can only guess that it might sound like a d. I love how it looks, like there's a dagger right through the letter.)

Heiða was excited by the gift, but she was careful not to blow it all away. So what did she buy? "I bought a socialite potion, a bear petling, a large room and a wig dye," she said (pictured above).

"I haven't bought much cuz it's the only Playfish Cash I'll ever have, so I'm trying to make it last a long time. The socialite potion was a big disappointment to me and many others." According to the Boutique, it's supposed to cause a magical effect for seven days and allow you to earn more coins per visit. But Heiða says that it didn't change much.
pet society icelandic bar
"My favorite item is probably the large room I turned into a bar," she says. (Expanding a room costs 15 PCs.) "It looks so cool. Gigi Mac gave me a disco ball to put in there and it really completed the room," Heiða says. "The bear petling is also super cute. I tried to do online research on everything I wanted. My boyfriend calls me a petaholic and I'm starting to think it's true, seeing as I play PS more then I will ever admit," she says.

Mafia Wars Fourth of July Sale includes five limited edition items

Mafia Wars is kicking off the holiday weekend with a special Fourth of July Sale, that includes five exclusive new items that, frankly, have decent stats that make it worth the Reward Points.

The five limited edition items will be available in the Marketplace from July 2-7 and can be purchased for 35 RP each or 148 RP all of them. These special items include the following:

Grand Finale
A 60 D25

Lady Liberty
A 33 D 59

Parade Stallion
A 60 D 28

Uncle Sam
A 34 D 61

Washington's Sword
A 24 D 61

Since my mafia is a little low on defense, I'm considering spending my hard-earned Reward Points on Uncle Sam. The Grand Finale looks pretty appealing too, though. Decisions, decisions.

Which Fourth of July item did you/would you consider buying?

Golden Nugget Vegas Casino: A Vegas classic launches Facebook game

You can't play 'real' poker on the Internet (yet), but starting today you can play in a game backed by a real Las Vegas casino. The classic casino Golden Nugget, which has a rich history that dates back to 1946, brings the casino experience to you in the form of a new Facebook game, simply titled Golden Nugget Vegas Casino.

The game doesn't necessarily cater to people who want to play poker, blackjack and other casino games on Facebook -- this is more about building the virtual casino of your dreams. Start out with a modest casino and stock it with slot machines, card tables and more -- then collect money (or 'harvest') machines after a certain period of time passes. Each machine will be ready for collecting after a different amount of time, several minutes or longer depending on the device. The only time that you actually get to play casino games is when you visit neighbors, where you get 100 coins (per friend, per day) game playing comes in when you visit friends' casinos, where you get 100 coins to bet on whatever games they've placed in their casinos.

Golden Nugget has an in-game store with new games, decor that unlock as you level up and -- at some point in the near future -- they will also be adding microtransactions, where you can use real-life money to buy additional items for your casino.
golden nugget vegas casino
So far, this simulation game doesn't seem to do much different than most of the other simulation games on Facebook, and is relying on its tie-in with Golden Nugget, and the fact that you're building a casino instead of a farm or cafe to attract the social gaming masses. If other casino-building games like My Casino and Casino City are any indication, I'd be surprised if this game will hit the jackpot. Then again, Lady Luck works in mysterious ways.

YoVille: New Pets coming to town... and they'll be ready for a close-up

Brand new pets are coming to YoVille soon, and they'll be more dapper than ever. According to a post on the YoVille blog, we'll be able to play dress with these new critters once they grow up. Like the pets before them, they'll want to follow you around to parties and events. But this time, they can make a statement!

While we don't know neither when these new companions will be available nor for how much (YoCash we assume), we do know how we'll have to go about raising them, training them and finally dressing them.

To train your pet in various disciplines, you'll need biscuits from either gifts from friends or via purchase. Once you get a hold of 20 biscuits and mastered your pet's training regiment, you'll have the option to grow your pet. Once you grow your pet into an adult, you can dress it up and have it follow you around wherever you may travel in YoVille. That is, after buying a pet license by selecting the "Buy License" option after clicking on your pet.
YoVille Customizable Pets
To dress your pet, all you will have to do is select your furry friend, press "Change Clothing" and go from there. While you can have the current pets follow you around, only the new pets will be able to be dressed. These new pets include updated versions of Pomeranian, Unicorn, Lion and Siamese Cat (we assume brand new pets will be joining this list as well).

We're as much in the dark about how much pet clothing will cost as when all of this fun stuff is going to launch, so stay tuned. Until then, what pet fashions would you like to see make their way into YoVille?

Wheel of Fortune on Facebook: Wheel Watchers, give it a whirl

If you're a 'Wheel Watcher,' aka a fan of the classic TV game show Wheel of Fortune, you'll be happy to know that your favorite letter-turning game has finally landed on Facebook. The game, created by GSN Digital, combines the aspects from the TV Show -- the wheel, buying vowels and the trademark sound effects -- with some very Facebook game-centric features.

You start the game by playing a 'Main Round' on your own and then playing a 'Bonus Round' where you can ask friends for help via a Facebook Wall post. Just like the TV show, you can spin the wheel and pick a consonant, choose to buy a vowel and/or choose to solve the entire puzzle. After the round is over, you are rewarded with 'Wheel Bucks,' which can be used to buy bonuses for your game -- Letter Reveal, Timer Pause, Double Bucks, Free Play -- or used to buy collections. Once a collection is complete, you'll score Wheel Gold, which can be used to buy more bonuses or purchase additional episodes (each player is given three free episodes to play daily). facebook game wheel of fortune friends leaderboard

Like other Facebook games, you can invite friends to be your neighbors, and their profile will show up in a leaderboard at the bottom of the screen. From there, you can send game bonuses to friends as free gifts and, more importantly, keep an eye on your standing in the ranks. And, while you can ask friends for help, you will be given ample opportunity to help friends solve puzzles as well, which will earn you additional Wheel Bucks.

Microtansactions are baked into the game -- of course -- and players have the option to buy Wheel Gold for real-life cash, via credit Card or PayPal.
games.com buy gold with cash
Wheel of Fortune isn't exactly new to the online game space -- there are several versions floating around the web (including this one on Games.com), but this socialized version of the game does a great job at harnessing the power of Facebook and adding a more personal (and maybe even competitive) experience to the the game we all know and love. We're also looking forward to seeing what exactly the Wheel Greeting and Compete for Wheel Gold features that are labeled as 'coming soon' on the game's main page will be all about.

The only thing that's keeping this 'Wheel' from nearing perfection? There's no way to hire a virtual Vanna White to turn the letters for us.

FarmVille rolls out new limited edition flower crop -- Lupine

In addition to Pinto Beans, FarmVille has rolled out another limited edition Wild West crop -- a flower called Lupine, which will be available in the in-game Market until October 7. The great thing about this limited edition crop -- it can be Mastered.

Fun facts about Lupine: It's a real flower, and there are 200+ varieties. This hardy bloom thrives in infertile soil (think Wild West barren land). I'm originally from the Lone Star State, so my favorite variety is, naturally, the Lupinus texensis, better known as the Texas Bluebonnet.

FrontierVille The Path to Progress Missions: Everything you need to know

FrontierVille Path to Progress
Just when you thought that you couldn't expand any further in FrontierVille, a financial opportunity like none other arises in Tolls. This new feature introduced by the Zynga team comes with a new set of missions, "The Path to Progress," and allows you to forge paths on your homestead, build a Toll Booth and collect toll from those who visit your homestead several times daily. While building a Toll Booth is a pretty simple task, these missions will teach you how to make the best profit of it.

Join us behind the cut for a guide on how to get your toll business started.
Path Finding
Before you can access the Toll Booth in the Market, you do need to complete the first few goals in "The Path to Progress." In the first goal, "Path Finding," all you need to do is:

    Chop Down Two Trees
    Move Six Cows
    Visit Frontier Jack's Homestead

Yes, to move the cows all you need to do is literally use the move tool to pick up six cows and move them somewhere else on your homestead. It turns out that all you need to do is move one cow six times to complete this requirement, which means this might be the simplest mission in FrontierVille since having to feed three chickens in "Tend Your Homestead." Finishing this awfully easy request scores you a sweet 100 Food and even sweeter 100 XP.

Let's Make a Deal
Next in "Let's Make a Deal," things get slightly more official. This goal is going to require much more time and some help from your friends with these requirements:

    Harvest 25 Corn
    Collect 10 Charter Agreements
    Buy a Toll Booth

FrontierVille Toll Booth Stage Three
While waiting 12 hours for your corn to be ready to harvest, you can ask your friends for Charter Agreements, which you will also find through gifting them to your friends. Buying a Toll Booth costs just 500 coins and 65 wood yet rewards you 100 more XP and the cost of the Toll Booth, but it'll take much more to build, which is exactly what you're tasked with in the next goal, "The Right Tool for the Job":

    Have 10 Tools
    Finish the Toll Booth
    Collect One Toll

Don't you love how the goals guide you through the new features? Getting 10 sets of tools might be something you already have through collecting bonuses when your friends are hired to work on your homestead, but if not you might have to collaborate should you want to collect these tools quickly. Just ask a few friends to hire you by clicking your name in the neighbors list, do the same for them, collect the bonuses from your News Feed and eventually you'll have amassed 10 Tools in no time. After finally finishing the Toll Booth, your final task is to collect one toll... that's it. Just ask a friend to visit your homestead one more time and you should collect some good old tax dollars, 200 XP and a Sledge Hammer.

The fourth goal, "Beating a Path to Your Door," is probably the most difficult in this entire mission. On top of keeping a certain family member out of danger while you lay the foundations of your business, you'll have to wait on your buddies to catch up:

    Build 20 Paths
    Stop a Wandering Spouse*
Visit 10 Neighbors Who Have Paths

*In the Toll Booth update, a new feature has been implemented where your inactive spouse will begin to wander around your homestead when not active. Just clicking on your lovely husband or wife will complete this task.

Visiting 10 Neighbors who have paths is going to be tough considering it depends more on your friends' progress than your own, which is when teamwork is key. Finishing this goal will net you 80 XP and an Iron Fountain for whipping your friends into shape.
Ox
Nearing the end with the fifth goal, "Stubborn as an Ox" asks you to quell neighbor complaints of wandering Oxen on your paths. Here's what you'll need to do so they'll shut up:

    Move 10 Oxen
    Collect 10 Bovine Insurance Forms
    Feed 10 Oxen

As with the cows before them, you should only need one Ox to move ten times using the Move Tool, but feeding one Ox 10 times is going to take quite a while. Since these are free gifts, why not just send them around amongst your friends to have 10 Oxen to feed at once? Collecting the Bovine Insurance Forms will require to ask your friends like most paperwork requirements and feeding the Oxen is pretty self explanatory. Oddly enough, you'll be rewarded another Ox and 300 XP for completing this goal.

Frontier Jack's Toll Booth
Finally, in "Trolling the Toll Booth," all you need to do is accept five neighbor help requests and collect three more tolls. A little anticlimactic, we know, but consider a testament to drudging through these six goals and crafting yet another building. For your hard work, you'll be rewarded an impressive 500 XP and a Mule. Now, go forth and tax all those who may enter your lands.

FrontierVille's Toll Booth will get the tax money flowing in no time

FrontierVille's new "The Path to Progress" missions are certainly impressive, but the star of the show is the Toll Booth. Once you unlock this new feature in the Market after finishing the "Path Finding" goal, you'll be raking in serious coin. After buying the foundation for 500 coins and 65 Wood, you'll need to whack the structure five times before you can lay on the finishing touches:

    Two Shingles
    Two Mallets
    Two Pegs
    Two Windows
    Two Measuring Tapes
    Two Screwdrivers

Like any old building (think General Store), you'll have to ask your friends for these parts. Once complete, anytime a friend visits your homestead to offer some work, you'll collect a small fee from them. Now, think about how many neighbors you have. If it's not many, then go get about 10 more before you ponder this. Every visit earns a small amount of coins, but multiply that by how many friends you have and you'll be the Scrooge of the frontier before you can say "Bah! Humbug!" Now, did any of you pioneers vote on this feature? If not, we might have a small problem.

FrontierVille's Toll Collection: Can't you read the sign?

Toll Collection
Since collecting oodles of cash and experience just can't be enough, there's also a Collection to go along with FrontierVille's new Toll Booth feature. This collection, like most, can only be completed at random by collecting the Daily Bonus from your Toll Booth.

What you'll win for completing the Toll Collection is a Road Sign (pictured far right) to put near your paths. While this is a welcome addition to an already neat feature, some extra cash or experience would have been nice. Who am I kidding? With this Toll Booth, I'll net enough cash to expand my homestead to 41x41 squares when the day comes. Let's hope that's not before the fabled Gold Rush comes in.

Monopoly on Facebook: Playfish is giving the classic board game a social spin

At a GDC Online panel this afternoon, Playfish COO Sebastien de Halleux let it slip that Monopoly is coming to Facebook. Electronic Arts own the rights for digital versions of Monopoly, and Playfish is currently hard at work at bringing the classic board game to everyone's favorite social network.

We don't know any more details on the game right now, but we're more than ready to Pass Go and Collect $200.

'Social games are designed to be addictive,' says internet rehab founder

Mafia Wars addicted mothers speak out
Millions of Americans play social games daily because, according to Dr. Hilarie Cash, "these games are designed to be extremely addictive." Cash, founder of Fall City, Wash.-based Internet addiction program reSTART, spoke with The Daily Beast about the dangers of social gaming addiction and how studios like Zynga intentionally design social games with addictive elements like points, levels and gifts.

"That's absolutely consciously built into the games," Cash said, "I've talked to video-games developers who acknowledge this."

Ya don't say? When a game that's free to play relies on players' PayPal accounts attention span to stay afloat, that seems like a no-brainer. However, when certain studios appear to enable the behavior, it becomes much tougher to sympathize.

According to the Daily Beast, unlike addictions to drugs and alcohol that can tear families apart, some Mafia Wars-addicted mothers have brought the whole family into the gang busting glee. This is much unlike last month's case of the game-addled mother of three who shut her children out of her Internet life. It's all in the approach, I guess.

FarmVille Pumpkin Carving Contest winners announced - were you one of the lucky winners?

With the Halloween season now two days behind us, Zynga has finally come to a decision in their FarmVille Pumpkin Carving Contest. For those who didn't enter, the contest challenged players to carve their best FarmVille-themed real-world pumpkin, with the prizes being 500 Farm Cash and 500,000 coins.

The results are in, with ten winners each taking home the top prize, and the contest's winners being displayed both on the FarmVille official fan page on Facebook, and on the game's official forums. The picture above is just one of the entries, from very talented user "aqia."

To take a look at the other winning entries (the pumpkins are simply awesome to look at), make sure to head over to the game's forums.

Digital Chocolate launches Vegas City on Facebook - live it up as a high roller

Just yesterday, Digital Chocolate announced the release of Hollywood City on Facebook, and not even 24 hours later, we're already seeing the next game being released in their growing lineup. This one is called Vegas City, and you guessed it, it's basically yet another clone of Millionaire City, this time set in the city of sin - Las Vegas.

Meet us behind the break for full details about this sinfully new game.

Vegas City, like Hollywood City, allows you to choose from two advisers, one male and one female: Sonny Rizzo (a mobster) and Princess Tiffany, who looks an awful lot like socialite Paris Hilton.

The story in Vegas City is that a small patch of land in the Cactus Desert has been purchased and given to you to start your own entertainment paradise. Your goal is to bring in the tourists by building casinos, hotels and the like (basically everything you'd expect from the real Las Vegas), with hotels replacing the homes found in Millionaire City, and casinos replacing some of the businesses (as this is another real-world city that you're building, some of the businesses, like food joints from Millionaire CIty, will also make an appearance here).

You can buy decorations to place around your hotels and other lodgings to increase the amount of "rent" you receive from each customer, and you can complete various quests for mostly cash rewards to build up your bank account to the point that you can purchase bigger and better hotels, businesses and landmarks (unlocked as you level up).

All told, Vegas City is basically another version of Millionaire City, but with said game resting at the #16 spot on AppData's leaderboard, we can't really blame Digital Chocolate for wanting to cash in on the success by releasing another game in the same vein.

You can play Vegas City by heading over to the game's official page on Facebook.

Did FarmVille get a nastygram from DC Comics? SuperFarmer costumes are no more

Players who purchased the new SuperFVMan and SuperFVWoman costumes in FarmVille were greeted today by a disappointing surprise. These costumes were taken away from avatars, and in return, a refund was provided of the purchase price.

The most obvious reason for these costumes being removed (while all other costumes are still available for purchase) is that Zynga received a knock on their door from DC Comics, who own the rights to Superman. Whether it was a phone call slap on the wrist or an actual Cease and Desist letter, we're not sure. In fact, it could have been unrelated to DC Comics at all. However, something fishy is definitely going on. It's unlike Zynga to take away items from players, remove them from the game entirely, and give out refunds.

Players on the forums were quickly concerned about the missing costumes, as some players have not yet received compensation for their purchase that disappeared. Voltai, FarmVille's Community Specialist, had the following to say (in a post that has since disappeared from the forums):

Hey, Farmers Unfortunately, the SuperFVMan & SuperFVWomen costumes are no longer available. If you purchased one of these costumes, they have been removed from your inventory and your account will be refunded accordingly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Note: It can take up to 24 hours for the reimbursement process to reach your farm. Thank you for your patience!

Island Paradise lets zebras and parrots run loose

Island Paradise releases new animals pretty frequently, so it's hardly even news anymore. These new Zebras are too cute for words though, so we couldn't help put at least post a picture of them. You can be the proud owner of these zebras for a hefty price of 500 Meteor Credits.

The other animal that was released today is the Parrot. Although you would think it would be in the animal tab of the Island Shop, it's actually under 'Decorative'. This could be a bug, or it could be intentional. Either way, it will cost you 350 Meteor Credits to own this parrot.

Both of these new animals are only available for a limited time, so they will be gone from the game in 15 days.

Will you be buying either of these new animals, or are you holding out for an animal that hasn't been released yet? Do tell!

New FrontierVille Mission: Where Have The Pumpkins Gone?

A new limited-time-only mission has been released in FrontierVille, and it comes in the form of a quest called "Where have the pumpkins gone?"

The new quest is actually a fairly simple one, and has you planting 70 pumpkins, harvesting 70 pumpkins, and collecting 10 Shipping Labels. For those that are long-time FrontierVille players, you may already have these ten Shipping Labels in your inventory, as we were asked to collect them once before in one of the Aunt's List quests. Otherwise, you'll need to post a news item to you wall asking your friends to send you the Shipping Labels.

Once you start the mission, you'll have just one day to finish it, unlike the two day time limit seen in the "It's Canning Time" mission that was released earlier this week. As for this mission, you'll need to start it before November 16, when it expires.

This quest seems to be much easier than the previous quest, however, as you don't have to plant as many Pumpkins as you did Tomatoes, and your Pumpkins take an hour to grow, meaning that you also have an hour after that to come back to the game to harvest them (none of the 15 minute rushing seen with the Tomatoes).

The reward for this quest is 300 coins, and a Small Pumpkin II decorative item. With Thanksgiving being the next big holiday, it's nice to see FrontierVille jumping straight into the festivities, and we'll be sure to let you know if this continues in the future.

Mafia Wars Thanksgiving Weapons Depot items incoming Thursday

Weapons Depot Items
If two different Secret Missions and a contest offering sweet swag wasn't enough, how about some items? Tomorrow, Zynga will release five limited edition items to the Mafia Wars Weapons Depot for players to create. Just for this weekend, you'll need a combination of Weapons Parts and other items to create these five Thanksgiving-exclusive items:

Predator Minigun: 55 Attack, 46 Defense (+5 Attack bonus*)
Lock and Stock: 50 Attack, 58 Defense (+5 Defense bonus)
Blazing Santoku: 35 Attack, 18 Defense (+1 Attack bonus)
Double Dare: 20 Attack, 36 Defense (+1 Defense bonus)
Need a Jump?: 38 Attack, 38 Defense (+1 Energy bonus)

*While these items might not have impressive, much less useful, stats, they each provide a hefty bonus to your Attack, Defense or Energy. In other words, you might want to reconsider building them... lots of them. Heck, you could work on building while waiting for that perfect Mafia Wars-themed dish.

Mafia Wars Armor Plated Crates yield tough-as-nails items

Armor Plated Crate Items
Only good things can come of a crate, right? It's been quite a long wait, but new crates have arrived in Mafia Wars. Players can finally buy the new Armor Plated Crates in the Marketplace at either 12 Reward Points for each or 35 for three crates. While either about $3 for one or around $8 for three, these items are far more impressive than previously released premium items. Take a look at what you'll find below:

Rare (10 percent chance):
-Covering Fire: 42 Attack, 86 Defense
-Solid Muscle: 87 Attack, 44 Defense

Uncommon (30 percent chance):
-Containment: 35 Attack, 72 Defense
-War Rhino: 72 Attack, 31 Defense
-Clear Path: 71 Attack, 33 Defense

Common (60 percent chance):
-Full Plate Armor: 69 Attack, 37 Defense
-Dueling Shield: 35 Attack, 69 Defense
-Long Tailed Pangolin: 68 Attack, 40 Defense

Clearly, these Crates are a far better investment than most of the recent additions to the Marketplace in recent memory. So, if you were looking for the right time to finally start buying items, now is probably that time.

Restaurant City: All ingredients on sale for 3 Playfish Cash

As part of Playfish's Crazy Shopping Week in Restaurant City (in honor of Black Friday), the developer has dropped the price of all ingredients in the ingredient store (yes, every single one, no matter the rarity or original price) to just 3 Playfish Cash.

For those that have been looking to master a dish requiring ten Oranges or lots of Vanilla, you'll now be able to do so for much cheaper than before, as these ingredients in particular (along with many others) original cost 8 Playfish Cash each! Sure, you'll potentially still have to shell out a lot of Playfish Cash to master any one particular dish, but the savings available this week are very noteworthy, especially for these rare ingredients.

This massive sale on ingredients will last only for the rest of this week, so while you're doing a lot of real world cooking for Thanksgiving, make sure to take some time to do some virtual cooking, while the prices are low.

FarmVille Snow Collection now available for a limited time

If you were wondering why Zynga kept advertising that the Autumn Collection would soon be leaving FarmVille (there are only two hours left to complete that collection, if you have yet to do so), we have the answer tonight as Zynga has released a limited time Snow Collection in the game.

This Snow Collection asks you to collect six items, ranging in rarity from Common to Rare, and requiring different quantities of each item, depending on the rarity. Here's a list of what you'll need to find, and in what amounts.

Icicle - Common - 10 Needed
Snowball - Common - 10 Needed
Snowflake - Common - 10 Needed
Coal Lump - Uncommon - 7 Needed
Wool Scarf - Uncommon - 7 Needed
Mitten - Rare - 3 Needed

As usual, you'll be able to collect these items automatically, but randomly, while planting seeds on your farm. You can also hope that your FarmVille friends come upon a "stash" of these ingredients while planting on their own farms, which they can then share via wall posts that you can click on to earn a free item.

The reward for collecting all six items is a cute, and animated, Cow Snow Globe. Remember, this collection won't be available to complete forever, so start planting some seeds now to make sure you collect all of the available items before it's too late.

FarmVille Thanksgiving Crafting Recipes available for a limited time

Attention all FarmVille crafters! There is a new recipe waiting for you to master inside your Crafting Building. As there are three different buildings within which to craft (those being the Spa, Bakery or Winery), so too are there three different recipes to master, however all of them work in the same way. To be especially clear, each user will only have access to one of these recipes, unless said user has spent the extra coins to purchase more than one Crafting Building.

For the Spa, as one example, you'll be creating Harvest Candles using both White Pumpkin and Lilac Bushels. In this case, a Spa owner would need 5 White Pumpkin bushels and 3 Lilac bushels to make the dish a single time.

For the Bakery, you'll be making Casserole with White Pumpkin and Carrot bushels, and in the Winery, you'll make Pumpkin Cider with White Pumpkin and Cranberry bushels.

While you can create Candles, Casseroles and Cider just for the amusement of doing so, keep in mind that these three recipes are available to master. However, being that they will only be available for a limited time, the challenge is high to actually do so, so start asking those friends for bushels now to have the best chance at one of these exclusive mastery signs.
